Does Huge Drug Seizures Undermine The Image Of A Country?

351

QUESTION OF THE DAY

Huge drug seizures are a credit to a country’s security apparatus. Any drug enforcement agency that is incapable of detecting and intercepting consignment of drugs transported by land, sea or air cannot protect the security or image of a country. Hard drugs are killers and maimers of human beings. They should not be the way to get rich.

A country should have a very well-funded, trained and equipped security apparatus to monitor and prevent the production and transportation of drug consignment. Drugs have their point of origin, transit and destination.  Tracking drug consignment requires national and international collaboration of security forces and informers. This is the only way to combat and defeat the drug menace.
