The Constitution building process is still in limbo, the Election Act is yet to be reformed, the process of issuing ID Cards is still not universal to warrant its exclusive use as identification for citizenship, people above 18 have never had the opportunity to be registered as voters since 2016.
The instruments required to having elections under a third Republic and its constitution are yet to be in place. As it stands, the IEC will gradually be compelled to rely on existing instruments to prepare for election thus negating the whole reform agenda of the Coalition for the better.
