The United States Is going through a similar process that the Gambia went through in 2016 and 2017 when Barrow became an incoming President and Jammeh an outgoing President from 2nd December 2016 to 18th January 2017. President Barrow assumed office on 19th January 2017.
The twentieth Amendment of the US Constitution has made it mandatory for a President Elect of the US to assume office on the twentieth of January after an election.
The President Elect and his running mate would be sworn in at the Capitol Building in Washington D C and like many presidents and Vice Presidents under many Republics they will take oath to execute their duties without fear or favour affection or ill will and uphold to ,defend and preserve their constitution.
