Binta Manneh is a mother who lives in Tallinding Farokono. Her daughter Fatou Manneh who is one year five months old, is enduring a swollen lower abdomen just above her right pelvis. According to Binta, she did not notice the swollen lower abdomen of her child until she took her to the Bundung Hospital (former Jammeh Foundation Hospital), due to her relentless cries of pain.
She said medication was prescribed for her daughter, and she was asked to return to the hospital on a Monday which she also did; that on that very day, she was referred to the Outpatient Clinic at the EFSTH in Banjul where she was given a note to see a Doctor. According to her, her daughter’s leg was later scanned and she took the result to her Doctor at the Bundung Hospital; adding three days later, she returned to the Bundung Hospital but she was asked to stay at the hospital for the child to be hospitalized, but the situation of the child still remains the same.
Binta said her family is financially challenged with her old husband who barely makes ends meet; that they barely have meal enough to feed even their children.

She said the child hardly sleeps nor eats and that she cries relentlessly because of the pain she endures.
