Since 2016, there has not been any registration of voters in the country. Hence if a by election takes place in Niamina West, all those young people who attained the age of 18 in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 will not be able to vote.
Foroyaa will try to interview officials of the IEC and the Inter Party Committee on this matter. Disenfranchising qualified voters is a violation of one’s political right. All efforts must be made to provide a remedy to the situation. We will report our findings in subsequent editions.
