Real de Banjul has gone into camping ahead of their Saturday’s match,
the club announced.
The All Whites are up against Liberia’s league winners for the
first-leg of the Caf club competition.
RDB are currently housed at the Yundum Goal Project where they wouldbe offered exclusive access to the artificial turf there to wrap up
their work of technique ahead of the big showdown.
Gaffer Amat Cham–who haven’t a stint in a competition of such
magnitude –is buoyant as he and his charges are eying to breaking a hoodoo that
has long lurked around Gambian clubs –reaching the lucrative group
stage of the coveted championship.
Real who are Gambia’s only representatives on the back of FA Cup
winners Banjul United’s withdrawal from the Confederation Cup,
bolstered their squad enough with a myriad of signings exclusively
from clubs within the GFF premier league.
‘As a club, we take this business very seriously. We invest our time
and resources to see that we become very professional. We will take
this game seriously because that is what we are. No club has gone to
the group stage. We are hoping to make history by qualifying to the
group stage of the CAF Champions league,” club vice president Bakery
Jammeh told a press conference last week.
The general feeling was one of confidence at last week’s session at
Oasis in Senegambia. RDB who are also Super Cup winners tussles it out
with a team that boosts of eight of Liberia’s national players to
their ranks but Gaffer Amat Cham insists he’s unfazed.
