Hamza Barry has ended an 18-month stay away from the Gambia national team confirming his inclusion in the Scorpions team due to face Djibouti this month.
The 25-year-old last featured for Gambia in the pitiful draw against minnows Central African Republic under the guide of gaffer Matarr Mboge as Gambia then battled getting a man fill the Scorpions managerial void permanently.
He stayed away from the team soon after skipping qualifiers against Algeria, Togo and for Benin in the return fixture including the previous lacklustre savaging to Angola in the World Cup qualifier.
He was one of players reported to have been disenchanted over Tom Saintfiet’s exclusion of some players.
However, he is now back after the coach unraveled his 28-man team bound for Djibouti October 9th.
‘He is into the squad. He never had a problem with the coach,’ a source from the federation tells Foroyaa Sport yesterday evening.
