Bai Jobe Njie still not seen by the Family After 72 Hours

By Kebba Jeffang Foroyaa has been told by family sources that Mr. Bai Jobe Njie, the father of an ex-military officer of the Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) who was said to be part of the insurgents that attacked state house on 30 December 2014, has still not returned home after being picked up on Friday, 2 January 2015.Mr. Jobe Njie, who was taken away from his home at Tallinding Dumos by two plain clothed officers, is still not seen by his family after 72 hours. A family source indicated that they are in a total state of despair and therefore are appealing to the authorities to secure the release of their aging parent. “We still don’t know why he was arrested and where he has been taken to,” said the family source. Foroyaa has earlier reported that Mr. Njie, a driver at the Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC), was arrested on Friday, 2 January, 2015 just after midnight, by two officers who indicated that they are from the office of the President. It was also reported that the said officers who picked him up came with a numberless pick-up vehicle.]]>
