The year ends on a sad note for Bubacarr Sanneh after the Gambian defender got injured

The 24-year-old, it is reported, picked up the injury during training session making him a huge absentee for the Belgian giants Anderlecht’s crucial end –of-year fixture with a stuttering Waasland-Beveren.

The centre-back was demoted to the bench in his outfit’s shocking 3-1 loss to Royal Excel Mouscron and Cercle Brugge two weeks ago, meaning the club’s most expensive buy on a reported 8 million euros, last played in their exit of the Europa League against Dinamo Zagreb of Croatia December 13th 2018.

The trajectory leaves interim manager Karim Belhocine way over getting surrogate in case of injuries to regular started Vranjes and Salaemaekeers.

Sanneh has featured as a starter only seven times out of the total nine games four months after joining the Belgian club from Danish back-to-back title chasing Midtjyland.
