Gambia has clinched the four-team exhibition tournament trophy
held in Senegal, according to GFF’s Bakary B. Baldeh.
The tournament organised by FIFA licensed player agent Samba Diallo wrapped up reportedly on Sunday.
Gamtel’s striker Assan Ceesay and Real de Banjul’s Madi Fatty got on the score sheet for the Gambian outfit comprising hugely home-based players with one foreign-based Fredrik Sidat Fladby.
Under the guidance of gaffer Abdoulie Bojang and Mattar Mboge, the Scorpions did not have the best of preparation results -losing 3-2 to Banjul’s Zonal team –but got in on the act to win the staked prize.
The team were on their way back home at press time yesterday.
Gambia last competed at international level September 2013 against Tanzania in the WC qualifiers.
