By Mustapha Jallow Reliable sources have informed this medium that Mr Sait Matty Jaw, a resident of New Jeshwang, has been released from NIA custody on 12th November 2014. According to the information, Mr. Jaw was granted bail at about 6pm by the National Intelligence Agency at their headquarters in Banjul on 12 November, 2014. “Mr Seth Kande, a Ghanaian and Mr Femi a Nigerian who were arrested and detained alongside Mr Jaw by the NIA are said to be still under detention at the NIA headquarters in Banjul,” said the source. These three persons were arrested and detained at the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) on 4 November, 2014. They were picked up from the Brikama Campus of the University of The Gambia. Mr Jaw who is also a Researcher, is involved in some academic research for The University of The Gambia, especially relating to the advancement of women’s rights, has over ten years experience working with children, women and young people focusing on empowerment and policy advocacy.
