Question of The Day

The National Food Security, Processing and Marketing Corporation formerly known as the GGC, has sent a press release indicating 4th December 2017 as the date the 2017 / 2018 trade season will start.

Over forty Seccos in the Kerewan, Kuntuar, Basse, Bansang, Kudan and Bara Depot Circles, have informed this medium that they are not operating since the beginning of the trade season simply because they have not been pre-financed by the National Food Security, Processing and Marketing Corporation.

Foroyaa hopes that the National Food Security, Processing and Marketing Corporation’s management will clarify in their press conference today, as to why these Seccos have not been pre-financed. It should be borne in mind that any shortage in pre-financing the purchase of crops, would harm the farmers and the agricultural sector. This would contribute negatively to the socio-economic development of the country.
