The U-17 Women’s Scorpions over the weekend put aside their awful treatment in Freetown to make a light work of Sierra Leone.
Gambia traveled out last week to Bo City for the first-leg of the preliminary round qualifier for the World Cup in Uruguay but instead of been lodged in decent quarters, the players were placed under unfavourable conditions and denied access to proper training facilities.
The Gambia Football Federation has since reacted, filing a complaint to the Confederation of African Football for possible disciplinary actions.
The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) are yet to issue a statement to confirm or deny Gambia’s claims of mistreatment.
Unfazed, Gambia’s U-17 Scorpions went on to beat the female Leone Stars 3-0 through goals from Catherine Jatta, Aminata Camara and Oula Bouaro.
