By Mustapha Jallow Mr Sana Camara, a journalist working for The Standard, a Gambian daily, Journalist Sana Camaraon Thursday 3 July, told this paper that his bail has been extended to Monday, 7July, 2014. When asked, Mr. Camara said he didn’t know his fate as he is still reporting on bail at the Police headquarters in Banjul. He said he was granted bail since Monday, 30 June 2014, and was asked to report the following day Tuesday 1 July, 2014; that when he reported on 1 July, he was again asked to report on 3 July which he said he did. He said the reason given to him is the absence of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Yankuba Sonko who is said to be out of town. The Standard reporter has not been charged but the indication is that he has been accused of false publication. He wrote a story on human trafficking following an interview he purportedly had with Police spokesperson, ASP David Kujabi published in the Friday 27 June edition of The Standard Newspaper NOTE Following the arrest and detention and the eventual release of Journalist Sana Camara from police custody, this paper is giving a daily update on the issue.  ]]>
