The wife and family members of Mr Bunja Nyassi are beginning to doubt whether the government is committed to its pledge never to allow a single person in Gambian soil to be detained without trial.
Kaddijatou Gibba Nyassi, the wife of Bunja Nyassi, has approached Foroyaa to request the paper to send a message to both President Barrow and General Kinteh that she and her children are having sleepless nights because her husband is detained at the Yundum Military Police for more than 72 hours without trial.
This is not what is expected after the change of order no matter who is accused, the due process should still continue. It is therefore absolutely essential for the president and the Attorney General to intervene for action to be taken to release Nyassi unconditionally or grant him bail.
