members of the Board “… shall be selected from persons of integrity, competence and maturity of judgment. A member of the National Assembly, the holder of a political office or an officer of a political party shall not be qualified to be appointed to the Board of Directors or other governing body of a Public Enterprise”. The aim is to have an institution which would be able to effectively and efficiently operate without political interference. It is therefore very interesting to hear that such an enterprise is being transformed into a quasi government department or quasi ministry.
