President Barrow has gone far with his tour of the country and has heard directly from the people – the demand for feeder road networks, mechanization of rice cultivation in order to feed the nation, farm implements, garden tools, jobs, jobs, jobs for the youth, water supply, electricity. These are the hangovers of the former regime and people are looking for solution.
The old regime has gone and the expectation of the people is that change has come and with it not only political, constitutional, electoral and institutional reforms but prosperity as well.
These are intriguing times for the president. Promises must be based on concrete plans.
