By Sulayman Bah Applicants are being evaluated and vetted after the National Sports Council advertised its vacant position of Executive Secretary. As the highest portfolio at the council, the post was declared vacant after Abdul Aziz Titao Mendy was relieved of his duties by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS). The termination of Mendy’s services, which was first disclosed by Foroyaa Sport, occurred sometime last month. The erstwhile Armed Forces gaffer was the head of the technical arm of government early this year when he rose to the position of Executive Director –the first to serve in this capacity after its rebranding to the post of Executive Secretary – before he was reassigned as programme officer –the last role he handled prior to his termination. Reports reaching this medium have revealed that the NSC is now looking for a suitable candidate from those who have applied for the post. Ebou Secka of the NSC confirmed the story but referred Foroyaa Sport to Chairman Lamin Colley who was unreachable at press time. Meanwhile, it is not yet clear who occupies the position of Programme Office at the moment.]]>
