MAN SEEKS ASSISTANCE FOR OVERSEAS TREATMENT

Mr. Kawsu Jawneh, a 41 year old man, resident of Kunjang is seeking for assistance to undergo overseas treatment on “end stage renal disease secondary to hypertensive nephropathy” with immediate effect.

According to his medical report from Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH), he is a known hypertensive patient, diagnosed five (5) years ago without treatment that was brought to the hospital (EFSTH) on September 22nd, 2016 complaining of difficulty in breathing, bilateral pedal oedema, weakness and vomiting.

Elder brother to the patient, Lasanna Jawneh said the said patient is taken to EFSTH three times a week in order to drain his blood and fill him with new blood noting every week they pay about D2,400 which he said they cannot afford on a continuous process.

“My brother is restricted to drink a liter of water in a day and that frustrates him a lot and every time he complains of back pain which sometimes default his walking,” the elder brother noted. Lasanna said they have also been to Dakar in Senegal, for further treatment at both private and government clinics but to no avail.

Therefore, the family of the patient is appealing for assistance from the government, good Samaritans, individuals and philanthropic organizations to enable him to travel overseas for treatment.
