Cherno Gassama, the Imam of Darsilami Mosque in the Lower Fulladu West District, Central River Region of Gambia, has been released on Wednesday 25 January 2017 after being held for one year two months incommunicado at Janjanbureh central prison.
Imam Gassama was arrested on Monday 2 November 2015 at his residence by personnel of the National Intelligence Agency accompanied by a police officer from Brikamaba Police Station.
Attempts by the family to access him during his detention proved futile. Instead they were told he was not there.
They have now finally re-united with their love one.
