What is the relation between the ECOWAS troops and Gambian soldiers?
This is the question that has to be answered in order to help the ordinary Gambian to see harmony in the relation of the troops rather than conflict.
The task now is to change the mindset of every Gambian who has been in the civil or military service to enable them to put the supreme national interest to the fore.
The troops should fraternise and see themselves as soldiers protecting the lives and properties of their people. They should be the bastion of sub-regional integration and the security of democratic countries.
Today it is Gambia but on another day it could be another ECOWAS State. Hence measures should be undertaken to promote both national and regional sovereignty.
