Information reaching this medium has it that Magistrate Surahata Danso of the Brikamaba Magistrate’s Court is arrested and detained at the serious crime unit at the police headquarter in Banjul.
According to the information, Magistrate Danso was arrested by the Brikamaba police on Tuesday 1 November 2016 at his residence in Brikamaba between the hours of 6pm and 7pm.
The source went further to reveal that Danso was detained at Brikamaba police station during the night of Tuesday and transferred to the serious crime unit at the police headquarters in Banjul where, up to the time of going to press, he is detained.
When he was first contacted on the issue, the Police Public Relation Officer (PRO) Inspector Foday Conta promised to get back to this reporter. However, when contacted again, he said he is yet to get information due to the weekend but promised to get back to this reporter today (Monday).
