One Haji Sinera, who operates a restaurant near Westfield, told Foroyaa that his canteen was demolished on Saturday, 29 
October, 2016 by some men who promised that they will put it up again.
According to Mr. Sinera, the men told him they are bringing the canteen down in order to have space for a rally to be held by the APRC party at the same place.
When this reporter visited the place yesterday, 31 October, 2016, he found a pile of corrugated iron sheets and timber said to be the materials of the demolished canteen.
“On Saturday, some men who claimed to be militants of APRC, came and told me that my restaurant would be demolished and promised me that they will put it up again after the holding of their meeting on Sunday (30 October) but they are yet to come back to fix it,” he claimed.
Mr. Sinera disclosed that it was just few days ago that he has paid the licence fee of D750 for his restaurant. “My father helped me to start this petty business to be selling breakfast and dinner for 6 years now,” he further revealed.
However, when the office of the mayor of the Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) was visited to enquire whether the council is aware of this demolition, the secretary told this reporter that the mayor was out of office.
