ACUTE LOAD SHEDDING OF ELECTRICITY AND SHORTAGE OF WATER SUPPLY
What is responsible for the growing load shedding of electricity and shortage of water supply?
The public is entitled to explanation why load shedding has increased to a level where certain areas can stay for over 12 hours without electricity and days without water supply in their houses or compounds.
PURA is given responsibility to regulate public utilities like electricity and water supply. They used to hold Consumer Parliaments in order to sound the opinions of consumers and allow the service providers to give clear explanation in order to win the confidence of the people. We hope PURA will investigate what is going on and issue a press release to inform the people so that all will know where the problem lies and when it will be addressed.
Television and radio broadcasts of election messages would be imperiled if there is no regular electricity supply during the campaign period for the forthcoming presidential election that would automatically make NAWEC a campaign issue.
