A petty market trader, Sarata Kanyi, has sued B G Trading to the Consumer Protection Tribunal at the Bundung magistrate court,
presided over by Magistrate Momodou S. Jallow. The case was first mentioned on Monday, 18th July, 2016.
Both the plaintiff and defendant were not represented.
The plaintiff’s claim is for the recovery of the sum of D9,000 against the defendant being the cost of one freezer.
Presenting the particulars of claim, the magistrate said the plaintiff’s claim is for the recovery of the sum of D9, 000 being the cost of one deep freezer which the plaintiff bought from the defendant’s shop and could not be used for the purpose. He added that the plaintiff returned the freezer for a refund of her money but to no avail.
When the claim was put before the defendant, he denied liability. A denial of liability was then entered for the defendant and the magistrate adjourned the case to next week Monday, 25th July, 2016, for hearing. He urged the two parties to bring their witnesses in the next seating as they want to resolve the matter in the next hearing.
