By Sulayman Bah Futbal net, formed by Spain league giants Barcelona FC, will today be introduced to twenty-eight Gambian schools at the SK East mini-stadium.With a lot of children now taught the sport across the continent, Futbol net was brought to the Gambia last year by OlympAfrica in an intriguing session held at the Serrekunda East Olympafrica centre. The aforesaid organisation, according to the Director of the centre, Alfusainey Jarju, is the sponsor of today’s programme. A successful pilot project was conducted with few schools last year and that this year’s occasion is being organised with the help of the Gambia National Olympic Committee, according to Jarju. Participating teams would be drawn from the Kanifing Municipality and comprises sixteen Lower Basic and 12 Upper Basic schools.
