The 23 protestors who were arrested on Thursday, 14 April while protesting at the Westfield Junction have not yet been released, 
more than 72 hours after their arrest; contrary to section 19 of the Constitution. This provision requires an arrested person to be arraigned in court or be released either conditionally or unconditionally within 72 hours.
Foroyaa reporters have been to court houses to enquire but they were not seen in court. Attempts to reach the police PRO by phone or at his office have been unsuccessful. A visit to home of Solo Sandeng reveals that the family a yet to receive any information about him. There is no word on their place of detention.
There is also no word on the whereabouts of Lawyer Ousainou Darboe, the UDP Executive members and other UDP supporters who were arrested at Kairaba Avenue on Saturday while marching along that route.
There is even no sign that bystanders and passers-by who were arrested on Saturday have been released. When Foroyaa visited the places where the bystanders were arrested, the people found there indicated that they have not seen or heard from them since then.
The 23 arrested Westfield protestors as provided by a party official are as follows:
Ebrima Solo Sandeng, Fatoumata Jawara, Falang Sonko, Nogoi Njie, Fatou Camara, Decay Yaboe, Abubacar Gitteh, Kebba Bojang, Lamin Janneh, Jula Jah, Bakary Dembo Touray, Modou Ngum, Ebrima Janko Ceesay, Alagie Ceesay, Pa Beyai, Lamin Jabang, Lamin Jatta, Kafu Bayo, Lang Marong, Alagie Jammeh, Modou Touray, Janko Ceesay and Ebrima Jadama.
