2 Million Bail bond for 3 Men charged with Homosexuality

Abi of the Banjul high court has on Tuesday, 17 February 2015 granted bail in the sum of 2 million each to Momar Sowe, Alieu Sarr, and Modou LaminBittaye, who are facing multiple counts of homosexuality offences. In granting the trio bail, the trial judge orders the applicants to provide two Gambian sureties who shall swear to an affidavit of means with a valid property valued at D2 million within the Greater Banjul Area (GBA). The sureties, he added, must deposit their original title deeds which shall be approved by the high court and a valuation report. He also orders the applicants to deposit their passports and all other documents with the Registrar of the Court and that the accused shall be reporting to the Principal Registrar of the High Court every Mondays and Thursdays until the final determination of their case.]]>
