Martin Emmanuel Faye a sixteen-year-old is seeking financial assistance to continue his academic journey at the Gambia Technical Training Institute (GTTI).
The sixteen-year-old boy who walked into Foroyaa’s office, said he got his admission at the GTTI but the family cannot afford to pay the bill given to him.
“I sat for my West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in this past academic year and got admission at GTTI to study Architecture but I don’t have anybody to pay my tuition fee,” he said.
As a concerned student, the sixteen-year-old boy said he was told that his friends will be commencing classes this week and still now he did not secure any scholarship.
“I am living with my mother and my siblings, my mother single handedly cannot afford to provide our basic needs and at the same time pay my tuition fee,” he said.
Mr. Faye said he initially wanted to go to the college because he thought that tuition fee is not charged at the College, but lhe ater realised that there is payment too.
As at now, he said he is not doing anything that can earn him money.
Emmanuel Faye is calling on Philanthropists, Government and Private Institutions to come to his aid.
