Bakau shoved aside competition from Lamin beating them 1-0 to clinch their first three points yesterday evening.
Lamin Demba’s lone goal –plastered in the 16th minute – stood to end of time to secure Bakau their first complete spoils after drawing champions Gunjur in the opening fixture.
Held at the SK East mini-stadium, Bakau came close in the 3rdminute of the show with clear chance after captain Alasana Camara connected his header to the oppositions’ post.
Teammate Demba then boomeranged from close quarters to set Bakau into the driving seat going into the break.
The resumption of the second period had Lamin coming all out to balance the score, but their efforts proved futile. Bakau intensified the game’s pulse but soon had a man sent off in Ebrima Seckan for a second bookable offence in the dying minutes of the encounter.
Lamin launched shots and won several free kicks in their bid to level the fragile lead of the opponents, but could not break the formidable defense of Bakau.
