WILL THE RE-DEMARCATION OF CONSTITUENCIES ORDER, 2016 LEAD TO GENERAL
REGISTRSTION OF VOTERS IN THOSE CONSTITUENCIES?
The Re-demarcation could not come into effect before the amendment ofthe Constitution to make it possible to have more than 48
Constituencies. Once the President assents to the Bill and has it
published in the Gazette, the IEC would be able to legally create
SANNEH MENTERENG OLD YUNDUM and BUSUMBALA CONSTITUENCIES IN KOMBO
NORTH, BRIKAMA NORTH and BRIKAMA SOUTH CONSTITUENCIES IN KOMBO
CENTRAL; TALLINDING KUNJANG and LATRIKUNDA SABIJI CONSTITUENCIES IN
SERRE KUNDA and BUNDUNKA KLUNDA CONSTITUENCIES IN SEREKUNDA CENTRAL.”
It is mandatory to have General registration in all these
constituencies once the re-demarcation takes legal effect. The IEC
should take note of this fact.
