WILL THE CONCERNS OF THE FARMERS OVER SEEDS AND FERTILISER BE ADDRESSED?
The principal concerns of the farmers expressed to the Minister of agriculture during his recent tour of the provinces are the price and availability of seeds and fertilizer in good time.
The National Food Security Corporation (formerly GGC) has indicated that it already has good quality fertilizer at its depots at a price of D950 which is the same as last year’s price. He added that more fertilizer is expected but the price is yet to be determined.
It is evident that one of the concerns – the price – has not been addressed. Foroyaa will continue to monitor developments and inform our readers accordingly.
