QUESTION OF THE DAY

WHY IS THE ROAD CONSTRUCTION IN SERREKUNDA TAKING SO LONG?

The reconstruction of a section of about 100 to 200 metres of Mosque Road which leads to the Serrekunda Market has been going on for months now. At first the contractor dug the road and brought in some materials which were placed on the site for months before commencement of work. Now this work seems to be moving at a snail’s pace while road users are becoming impatient with the long wait.

Mosque Road is a very busy road because it leads to Brikama taxi park and Serrekunda Market. The road construction has led to a change of route by drivers that used to ply this road which often leads to congestion beside the entrance of the Churchill’s Town Fire and Ambulance Service which is unsafe.

Foroyaa will get in touch with the relevant authorities to find out why the construction is taking so long and how soon the work will be completed.
