He is dead while in custody. His family members have gone for his body but were told that he could not be released until investigation is done on the cause of death. This developing story is confirming Foroyaa’s worst fears. We have repeated over and over again that a politically motivated action should be handled politically and not by legal prosecution.
Mass arrests, detentions, trials and convictions only make hundreds and even thousands of people affected. It does not contribute to a society where all work for the common good.
The UDP leadership and members are now in their month of incarceration. All these people are in different state of health. Detention in a dark room with poor diet could lead to the worsening of illnesses and contribute to ageing. Immediate action is needed to deal with this situation.
