According to the national media, President Jammeh is supposed to have assumed office on the 19 of January 2012. He is supposed to serve a term of 5 years. His term is reported by legal practitioners to come to an end on the 18 January 2017.
President- elect Barrow is supposed to assume office on the day of expiration of the term of office of the incumbent.
