The electorates are the ones who matter in elections. What they want is what would happen. Hence those who want to steer the affairs of the Nation after the expiry of the term of the incumbent should be ready to tell the electorate what they wish to hear to cast their vote.
Now is the time to shape mindset. That is why voter education is necessary. The role of a President and the Cabinet should be clear to all Gambians. The role of a National Assembly member, mayor and councillor should be equally clear. Those who appear before the people should be weighed on the basis of knowledge, experience and values to determine who could best perform the various roles for the benefit of the country and her people. This is the road to a better society.
