WHAT IS THE DECISION OF THE KANIFING CADI COURT ON FATOU SAMBOU’S PROPERTY?

198

One Fatou Sambou of Churchill Town passed away few years ago. She had six children, three males and three females. One male passed away before her demise, but he had no child. A female also passed away before her demise, but she had children.

Another passed away after Fatou Sambou died, but his wife had no child for him. This widow filed a suit at the Kanifing Cadi Court to ask for her share of the property. Judgment was delivered, but the survivors have never had access to the judgment.

They saw purported court officials coming over to the property of Fatou Sambou and handing over the biggest house to the widow, who had no child for her son, to her (the widow). Later this widow brought a trip of sand to the property.

The three survivors could not understand how this could happen and requested for a copy of the judgment. They were asked to pay a search fee of D200. They could not understand why they have to pay D200 to search for a file they have not lost. They say they are puzzled in that court officials insist in executing a judgment without a file, which they claim is missing.

Foroyaa will apply for a copy of the judgment for clarification since this is now a matter of public interest.
