Hatabu Hydara and Muhammed Fadel Hydara, alias Koto Amphal, the two brothers who were detained at the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) headoffice in Banjul, were released around 10 am last Friday, 7 August, after having spent 29 days in detention.
This reporter confirmed the release of the two Hydara brothers when he met them in their family home at Jangjang Road in London Corner, Serekunda, over the weekend.
Hatabu, the younger brother and head of an Islamic relief NGO, told this reporter that they were treated well while in detention.“We are released without charges and have been given a formal bail. We are supposed to report on Monday (today),” said Hatabu.
He added “I’m sure my vehicles are going to be returned to me soon. We did not commit any crime.”
He said they are very thankful to all those who have been giving prayers and support for their release.
It could recalled that the two Hydara brothers were picked up by security operatives at different times on the same day of July 9 at their home in London Corner, Serekunda, and detained at the NIA until last Friday.]]>
