Gambia international Tijan Jaiteh has been drafted for his club’s 
best player of the season award.
The midfielder who trades his services with Norwegian club Sandnes Ulf is among six players of the club being considered for the award.
The award, accorded to the club’s most outstanding performer of the season, is voted for by fans at the end of every domestic league campaign. 25-year-old Jaiteh tussles it out with Edier Fredj, Derek Decamps, Diego Rubio, Hannes Holldorsson and Fredrik Midtsjo
The ex-Gambia Ports Authority and Scorpion will be in the final 12 months of his two-year contract having joined the Light Blues in January on a free transfer from Sandefjord –his club of two seasons in the second tier.
Sandnes Ulf haven’t the best of starts to this year’s league crusade enduring strings of defeats in the commencement of the championship- a trend that proved the devastating catalyst to the club’s relegation.
The club’s position in the standings is miles away from their impressive 10th-placed finish the previous run.
Consequently,Tijan will also drop level unless an agreement is struck for him to stay up with another club or promoted Sandefjord–known admirers of the Gambian –buys out the remainder of his contract though that appears, for the moment, hugely unlikely.]]>
