Some people have predicted that because of diverse interests the opposition coalition talks would not yield fruit. They expected that it would have disintegrated by now. However, the talks are still continuing.
It is expected that today will yield a turning point in the talks.
The reason why the talks are continuing is because of the demands of the supporters of the opposition for unity to select one candidate. Many opposition parties that hit the campaign trail have to tell the electorate that they are in support of a coalition if they want to be relevant. There is no doubt that if the people are determined enough to call for a coalition the leaders will have no choice but to obey the will of the people or sink into political oblivion.
