Availability, accessibility and affordability of electricity, water supply and other utilities ought to be guaranteed by sovereign governments. This is why every country has a duty to create self reliant basis of providing such amenities. Nawec has indicated to the Public Enterprise Committee of the National Assembly that its generation capacity depends on three stakeholders. First of all, Nawec itself provides 49.98 percent of its generation capacity. Management further indicated that just over half of its generation capacity is provided by its stakeholders, 46.34 percent by Karpower and 3.68 percent by Senelec.
Nawec has serious challenges in transmission and distribution. Foroyaa will compare its generation and transmission capacities in order to evaluate the losses in subsequent issues.
