Mr. Abdoulie Ceesay, the Managing Director of Taranga FM Radio Station, who was expected to open his defence yesterday, 22 
February, 2016 has opted to remain silent in his alleged ‘Sedition’ and ‘Publication of false news’ trial before Justice Simeon Ateh Abi of the Banjul High Court.When the case was called, Lawyer Antouman Gaye and Combeh Gaye-Coker announced their representation for the accused person, while Hadi Saleh Barkun, the Director of Public Prosecution(DPP), appeared for the state.
“My lord we’ve reviewed the evidence in this case and the accused opted not to give evidence but to remain silent. Having said that, we have a witness coming from abroad to tender some documents.” The defence asked for adjournment and it was granted.
The case was adjourned till Monday, 29 February, 2016 at 1pm.
