By Sulayman Bah Senegalese wrestling star Tapha Tine is due in Gambia today, according to wrestling promoter Lamin Champion Sound. Tapha Tine, the man from club Baol in neighbouring Senegal, is to arrive in the country this Friday morning, via the Banjul terminal. His manager, who is part of the advance delegation, arrived yesterday evening, Foroyaa Sport understands. The motive behind the wrestler’s visit is to honour a courtesy call by wrestling promoter Champions Sound. A line up of combats are being arranged with one of the flags named after the Senegalese ace featuring Abo Sarr and Boy-Balla this Sunday at the Serrekunda West mini-stadium. “He will be coming on Friday,” Champion Sound said. 27-year-old Tapha –dubbed Takci Rip – bit the dust in his last combat against then reigning champion Balla Gaye II last year. Modou Lo, another big name, was the last wrestler to visit Gambia three months ago. In a separate development, Baye Mandiaye from Balla Gaye’s camp in Senegal has agreed to take on former Gambian wrestling sensation Jineh Morri of club Serrekunda Mboloh.]]>
