Swansea recalls Barrow from Rovers

Barrow was set for a three-month loan spell at Rovers in a bid to gain first-team experience. But the forward has been recalled even before exhaustion of the loan contract by employers Swansea. The club did not bother to explain what led to the move to recall the former Ostersunds striker. The 22-year-old attacker who was in action for Gambia against Cameroon and has been linked with premier league heavyweights Manchester United. The United club scouts are said to have watched Barrow and for fear of losing him to the Red Devils, the Swans decided to act fast recall the striker, it is believed. Barrow is now expected to help the club’s attack and faces competition from French striker Gomis and Ghana’s Andre Ayew for a starting spot. Modou joined the EPL side first on a loan deal with an option to a permanent deal –a clause that was exercised early January. Prior to moving to the Wales side, he courted interest from Hull City, Celtic and QPR. Birmingham City trialed him but were gazumped to the deal by Swansea whose offer Ostersunds considered too good to turn down.]]>
