Without a nawettan season this year, Serrekunda Central’s exit in the ongoing Super Nawettan came much as SK East’s Wally Fofana tries to dribble a Brikama defenderlittle surprise.

Qualifiers and nawettan proper present coaches of zones with embarrassment of talentsto their disposal.

The Serrekunda Central gaffer had none at his guard owing to funding issues which rendered the central Sports Committee unable to hold any nawettan this term.

So with requirements of competitiveness in the Super Nawettan out of grasp of the Central outfit, analyst predicted a spectacular fall even before the whistle go. And so fall they did.

When the tournament official kick-off date was made public, SK Central zone had only few weeks to prepare a team and as quick-fix, the board summoned reportedly no less than eight teams from within the vicinity, staging a mini-tournament between them for the zonal coach to pick a squad from.

What followed next when the much-awaited championship finally commenced, like any poorly structured team, became a lesson to forget to all involved in the set up.

Dubbed the Whipping Boys in recent years for their vulnerability to defeat, the Boys from ‘Mboyo Field’continued from where they left off -becoming punching bags to every competitor in the group.

And so exit they did in most gruesome of fashions occupying bottom of the table with their 3-1 battering to Brufut the final straw.

‘A repeat pattern of booting out will repeat if they don’t make amends next year as well,’ an observer tells Foroyaa Sport.

Meanwhile quarter-finals of the Super Nawettan is slated for 6th and 7thNovember with venues yet to be named according to the organizing committee.
