By Mustapha Jallow Mr Buba Ceesay, a senior Customs Officer, attached to the Banjul International Airport, is said to be detained at the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) headquarters in Banjul since on Monday, 24 August, 2015, according to a close source. Mr. Ceesay, added the source, was on the verge of travelling out of the country on a mission when he received a phone call from someone asking him to report to the airport. According to the source, he was picked up and taken to the NIA headquarters in Banjul, where he is still being held for more than 72 hours without release beyond what is required by section 18 of Constitution regarding the detention of a person. The source also indicated that the reason for the arrest and detention of Mr. Ceesay is yet to be known, although his family is allowed access to him at the NIA. The family, according to the source, is therefore calling for the release of their loved one. ]]>
