The Prime Minister of Senegal has announced that the government will not allow any private company, especially foreign companies, from purchasing groundnuts in Senegal. He told the farmers that the government will be purchasing their nuts at a higher price. The Gambia government is yet to make a declaration on the secco price of the nuts or indicate how the purchase will take place. Farmers are very anxious.
