While the brouhaha with wrestling in the country has caused the arena season to stall, it’s bit of good news for Gambian wrestler Kunta Kinte who’d gotten a combat in Senegal, Foroyaa Sport can reveal.
Kunta is to face Essine Dole of Senegal at the Stade Demba Diop. Kinte from Club Roots in Gambia has been inactive since president Jammeh’s government banning of Borreh Dorr in the country.
This is not the first time the Gambian is battling a Senegalese opponent after he squared with Karrtus but bit the dust on medical decision in 2012.
Kunta’s latest adversary, Essine Dole, has one-time represented Senegal in an Ecowas wrestling competition in the 120kg category. Essine is a revered personality in conventional wrestling (Mbapath) but hasn’t thrived in Borreh Dorr.
