Scintillating duels in Super Nawettan Semis

By Sulayman Bah A line up of two intriguing fixtures take center stage today in the Super BrikamaNawettan semi-finals. The venues chosen are Serrekunda West and East for hosting of these big matches. Barra Essau Mayamba (BEM) face multiple times trophy winners Serrekunda East. East had the better of the BEM in their previous meeting at the group stages. That victory gave East a glimmer of hope to put a head above watering the competition after a streak of unprepossessing displays in the outset of the tourney. Though now revived and fired-up, they face a BEM side determined to set a record to reach the finals and seek revenge in the process. To be played at the Serrekunda West mini-stadium –a neutral ground –the match already tipped to be a cracker, will determine who centres the final. The other fixture, in Bakau versus Serrekunda West plays alongside the aforesaid match but at the Serrekunda East mini-stadium. Champions, SK West, will be looking to retain their trophy but must get rid of a free playing Bakau. The Beach Boys go into the match without invaluable asset coach Sainey Sanyang who’d been banned from sitting on the Bakau technical bench on the back drop of his touchline bust-up in their previous match against Brikama. Sanyang locked himself in an altercation when he provocatively went bonkers in sheer delight after his side’s second goal and raced to the opposing number’s dug-out to celebrate prompting a melee.]]>
