Topping the standings, victory was all the Academy Boys needed to secure them a return to the country’s top flight. And when the chance came by in Lamin United, Jane and his charges ensured it didn’t slip of their grips beating fifth-placed Lamin by a goal to nil. Samger’s promotion came as no fluke after they leapfrogged Steve Biko who’d led from onset of things in the closing stages of the league. They now have thirty-nine points with two games to end of the championship. They lead second-placed Biko by just three points but still booked a promotion ticket with third-placed Marimoo on thirty-four points. Blue Star sits fourth. Its however tight race at the bottoom of the table with Young Africans, Gambia Immigration SK East-Bi and KGI slugging it out in the relegation dogfight. KGI managed to boost their survival hopes after trashing Young Africans 3-0 while East Bi- drew Blue Star two-all with Marimoo trouncing Immigration two unanswered goals.]]>
